In his directorial debut effort, Andrew Zeiter's film Salty Language, Peppered Morals chronicles nationally known Stand up Comedian Mike Stanley who in 2008 was named by the Chicago Reader as their Readers Choice for Stand-Up Comedian of the Year. The documentary follows Mike as he goes on the road to compete against dozens of other talented stand ups in the well-regarded Boston Comedy Festival. If he wins the contest he will go home with a $10,000 check and national T.V. spot on Comedy Central. The film provides a compelling and brutally honest look at both Mike, and the world of stand-up comedy. Filled with many ups and downs along the way, Mike realizes one thing, that in order to be successful, he must remain true to himself as a comic. In the world of stand-up comedy: laughing is easy, comedy is hard.
