If you caught Casper Andreas' debut feature “Slutty Summer” that screened in our 2005 line-up, you will soon realize that his follow-up, “A Four Letter Word”, features a cast of familiar faces. Luke (principal lead and co-writer Jesse Archer) appears to be a “typical” gay guy – he works in a Chelsea sex shop, he likes to party, and he likes to hook up…and he probably will not remember your name – but you should not assume anything about him based on the image he projects. His estranged friend Marilyn is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, maniacally planning her wedding to Bart while trying to process the fact that Trisha, her AA sponsor, has recently declared an attraction to her. Meanwhile, his co-worker Zeke, a gay rights activist, is on Luke’s case, pushing him to go down the dreaded road of monogamy. Luke finally does this after meeting self-described artist Stephen ("Dante’s Cove’s" Charlie David) on a night out, who, after an awkward flirtation, tells Luke that he is, in fact, quite "typical." Never a wallflower, Luke confronts Stephen, although he gets more than he bargained for when he cannot get him out of his head the next day. As he opens up to a possible relationship with Stephen, and they discover each other’s secrets and desires, Luke realizes that perhaps love is more than just a four letter word in this amusing and surprising romantic comedy that we have the pleasure of world premiering. Proceeded by LGBT Script Writing Winning Shorts sponsored by HBO.
