All for One: Film Co-ops and Collectives
More often than not, filmmaking is collaborative. But beyond collaboration on a single film, some filmmakers opt for more long-term and sustained participation in a collective structure. What does the collective impulse tell us about the needs of individual filmmakers in today's film and media environment?
Panelists from a variety of cooperative models from Boston and beyond—including a national film distribution co-op, a local documentary collective, a chapter-based women's film collective, and a local artist-run film lab and collective—will discuss their motivations and strategies for collaborative support.
