Celebrate the launch of our 22nd Barrie Film Festival at our not-to-be missed Opening Night Film and Party. Start the evening with the festival opener, Willie about Willie O’Ree who in 1958 broke the colour barrier, becoming the first Black player in the National Hockey League. This film follows the story of his life, his career and impact on the game.
After the screening exit the theatre and come back into the Uptown for the Opening Night Party where DJ Matt Shaw will provide a great selection of music along with tasty hors d’oeuvres from Michael & Marion’s Restaurant.
