Description

Author Joshua Foer (MOONWALKING WITH EINSTEIN) thought up the challenge: twelve contemporary architects and designers would construct personalized, artistic sukkahs, to be placed in Manhattan’s Union Square and judged by a jury of architects, academics, and critics. Reminiscent of the Maysles brothers’ documents of various Christo projects, Sukkah City is an enthralling look at this suspenseful competition. Over 200,000 Jews and non-Jews visit the outdoor installation and discover the beauty and infinite possibilities of the Sukkah. Premiered at the Jerusalem International Film Festival.

Special Mid-Fest screening November 13

Musical performance by The Shpilkes Klezmer Band starts at 6:30 p.m. (Nov. 13)
