Description

Liam Price (Jack Huston, Boardwalk Empire) is a struggling artist who finally gains notoriety after he’s mistakenly reported dead. His sales begin to skyrocket, but complications ensue when, unable to resist basking in the glory of his success, he shows up at the opening night of his own retrospective. When Liam meets reporter McKenzie Grain (Brit Marling; THE KEEPING ROOM, also playing at this year’s festival), he is instantly drawn to her zestful determination and lies about his identity, pretending to be his own brother. Faced with their undeniable connection, Liam and McKenzie are forced to reevaluate the real lies in their own lives.

Playing with conventions of a classic screwball romantic comedy while exploring contemporary themes and characters, Posthumous is a timeless romance about questioning everything from art and beauty to love and relationships. The film inspires audiences to look and appreciate the world all around us, to take risks in everything that we do in order to discover our individual sense of meaning. Most importantly, the story is a reminder to love how we live and to love who we live with.
