Arsenic and Old Lace

Eccentric sisters Abby and Martha Brewster are charming, charitable and a little old fashioned. Along with their nephew, Teddy - who thinks he is the 26th President of the United States- the pair welcome lonely, older gentlemen into their house as boarders. But as their newly engaged nephew, Mortimer, soon discovers, the house and the sisters hold secrets that threaten the peace of their quiet Brooklyn neighborhood. Arsenic & Old Lace is one of the great classic comedy thrillers of American theatre. With a large cast of unusual characters, plenty of laughs and edge-of-your-seat suspense, it is no wonder that it remains a regional and community theatre favorite.

Play contains suspense, occasional loud noises, comic violence and some mild language.

Due to popular demand, we have added a performance on Thursday, May 2 at 7:30 PM!

Reflections and Shadows in Watercolor

Instructor: Laurie Humble
Two Day Workshop:
May 4 (9am - 3pm)
May 5 (1pm - 5pm)

Join Laurie in this Intermediate class as she teachers how to make your work come alive with realistic color, filled shadows and beautiful reflections using vibrant colors and rich darks. Watercolors don't have to be pale. Add interest to your work by increasing contrast. In this exciting workshop, you will learn techniques you can use to add interest to shadows and shadowed areas and to make reflective surfaces really appear to shine. Specific exercises will be taught to help you learn to infuse exaggerated or even imagined color into these subjects for a stronger impact. Laurie's stress-free teaching style provides a fun and relaxed atmosphere with lots of individual attention.
