Kurt Michael Friese, chef, local food advocate and Johnson County Supervisor, was sadly taken from us in 2018. In order to honor Kurt and to carry forward his work and passions, we are presenting a memorial fundraiser in his name to benefit two local non-profits that Kurt co-founded. Those two groups are Field to Family and Slow Food Heartland. Kurt was also a huge fan of local music so we thought it would be fitting to have a benefit concert with local musicians providing the entertainment.

The benefit concert takes place at The Englert Theatre on Wednesday, Sept 18 at 7 pm. Performing artists are Greg Brown, Awful Purdies, Dave Zollo and Slewgrass. Tickets are $25 advance, $30 day of show and $15 student (advance only). A limited number of VIP Tickets will be available for $75 that include a gallery reception at 5:30 pm with heavy appetizers and beverages sourced from local producers and prepared by former Devotay Chef Dan Knowles.
