The Majestic Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission to educate, entertain, and inspire the Gunnison Valley. After closing due to COVID-19 in September 2020, former employees of the Majestic founded a nonprofit and fundraised over $300,000 to bring back the only movie theater in the Gunnison Valley. We sucessfully reopened the Majestic on SEptember 23rd, 2022 as the first ever nonprofit cinema in the area. We aren't finished yet though - Friends of the Majestic hopes to one day acquire the building so Crested Butte is never without a cinema again!
