Hall of Fame East-West Classic, presented by Boeing and fueled by assistance from Major League Baseball, will feature Harold Baines, Rollie Fingers, Ken Griffey Jr., Fergie Jenkins, Jim Kaat, Fred McGriff, Eddie Murray, Jim Rice, Lee Smith, Ozzie Smith, Joe Torre and Dave Winfield among the Hall of Famers who will serve as the East and West teams’ managers and coaches and players committed to participate in the HOF East-West Classic include EAST team captain Chris Young and players Edwin Jackson, Adam Jones, David Price, Ryan Howard, Tony Gwynn Jr. brothers Jerry Hairston Jr. and Scott Hairston, Josh Barfield, Mo’ne Davis, Doug Glanville, LaTroy Hawkins, Jeremy Jeffress, Russell Martin and Melvin Mora. WEST team captain CC Sabathia and players Dexter Fowler, Dee Strange-Gordon, José Contreras, Ian Desmond, Prince Fielder, brothers B.J. Upton and Justin Upton, Tim Beckham, Curtis Granderson, Matt Kemp, Darrell Miller, Tyson Ross and Tony Sipp – on historic Doubleday Field, Saturday, May 25th at 1 p.m. ET.
The game, which will take the place of the Hall of Fame Classic in 2024, will be part of a weekend celebration as the Museum opens its new exhibit The Souls of the Game: Voices of Black Baseball.
