Why we're showing it: One of the all-time classic films, Marlon Brando's performance in On the Waterfront changed how actors played roles for generations, alongside great performances from Eva Marie Saint and Karl Malden. With an incredible score, beautiful cinematography and a layered, emotional plot, On the Waterfront was both a critical and commercial success, with twelve Academy Award nominations and eight Oscar wins.
