Expected to be in attendance: Director Christopher Radcliff

Young Sam (James Freedson-Jackson) feels like he is wandering through a waking dream. Embarking on a camping trip with his older brother (Alex Pettyfer, ENDLESS LOVE), he finds himself sleeping poorly, thinking too much, and losing track of reality. His brother's solution is simple: when you're not sure what is real, you get to choose what to believe.

The two head to a secluded cabin to live rough, commune with nature, and "figure things out," as Sam's brother puts it. But an abrupt separation proves they haven't really given the civilized world the slip. Now a shaken Sam must rely on the kindness of strangers. Stripped of his closest bond, he careens toward that reality he has been circling so warily in his mind. The nearer Sam gets, the more wisdom he sees in choosing to believe an alternative.

Written and directed by Christopher Radcliff and Lauren Wolkstein, and based on their short film of the same name (Special Jury Prize winner, IFFBoston 2011), THE STRANGE ONES will linger long after the credits roll.
