In a late 1920's Berlin nightclub, a garish Master
of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and
assures them they will forget all their troubles at the CABARET.
The musical explores the tumultuous life of Berlin
between the wars.
Cliff, a young American writer, is immediately
taken by singer Sally Bowles.
Fräulein Schneider, a boardinghouse landlord,
begins a romance with a mild-mannered
Jewish fruit seller. As a dark shadow slowly
encroaches, the characters find themselves struggling
to find a place in this dangerous new world.
