DENIS PODALYDS: A DREAM OF TOTAL THEATRE
Denis Podalyds took over the historical stage of the Salle Richelieu with Cyrano de Bergerac, one of the biggest hits in the history of the Comdie-Franaise. One of todays most celebrated French actor sees the play as a dream of total theatre, a mixture of arts and genres: comic opera, tragedy, romantic drama, symbolist poetry and Molieresque farce.
The staging finds its roots in these diverse genres and registers of performance to create a whole that is eclectic and coherent at once, a funny, moving and dreamlike tribute to all forms of performing arts.
