Cyrano is cursed with a prominent nose but gifted with words. He uses this talent to help handsome Christian win Roxanes heart, whom he also loves

Denis Podalyds took over the historical stage of the Salle Richelieu with Cyrano de Bergerac, one of the biggest hits in the history of the Comdie-Franaise. One of todays most celebrated French actor sees the play as a dream of total theatre, a mixture of arts and genres: comic opera, tragedy, romantic drama, symbolist poetry and Molieresque farce.

The staging finds its roots in these diverse genres and registers of performance to create a whole that is eclectic and coherent at once, a funny, moving and dreamlike tribute to all forms of performing arts.

This production won six Molire awards in 2007, Frances official theatre awards

Home to Molires historic theatre troupe, la Comedie-Franaise is Frances most respected and most prestigious theatre, created in 1680 at the Sun King Louis XIVs request. Located in the heart of Paris next to the garden of the Palais Royal, this State institution is the only one in the country to have its own dedicated company of actors, among which Guillaume Gallienne, Denis Podalyds, Laurent Lafitte and Dominique Blanc. For the first time, Frances historical stage La Comdie-Franaise comes to global audiences live from Paris in cinemas worldwide with three timeless classics, thanks to a new partnership with Path Live.
