Alejandra is a young mother and
housewife who raises her children with her husband Angel in a small
town. His brother Fabian is a nurse at a local hospital. Their
provincial lives are altered with the arrival of the mysterious
Veronica. Sex and love are fragile in certain regions where family
values exist and hypocrisy, homophobia, and sexism are strong.
Veronica convinces them that in the nearby forest, in a secluded
cabin, there is something that is not of this world but that is the
answer to all their problems.

with Escalante's solemn realism, making for a quiet, unforgettable
