Description

Featuring masterpieces of Raffaello, Mantegna, Bellini and Botticelli

Boasting an impressive private collection with a specific focus on the art of portrait, The Accademia Carrara in Bergamo is an Italian treasure which has been inaccessible to the public for several years. It features more the 600 paintings including Raffaello, Mantegna, Bellini, Botticelli and many other works of art from the 15th to the 19th century. Close in 2008 for restoration, in just a few months since its reopening it has attracted a huge number of visitors. For this occasion, acclaimed Italian director Davide Ferrario has decided to embark in a personal journey to capture the restoration and reopening of the museum as an opportunity to meditate on meaning of the act of looking. A unique and heart-felt film also featuring the renowned anthropologist Desmond Morris (author of the “Artistic Ape: Three Million Years of Art”) and the art historian Giovanni Romano. UltraHD 4K
