We’re thrilled to welcome you back to the theater to experience new films in a small group experience. With safety as our top priority, we will be operating at a significantly reduced capacity, with each screening's total capacity limited to one party of up to ten guests.

Please note that you must purchase all desired tickets in the same transaction. Tickets are $7.50 for Amherst Cinema Members or $10.75 for non-Members. Members, be sure to sign in to unlock your Member rate. At this time, no passes can be redeemed for these screenings.

Join Amherst Cinema and Steven C. Smith on Thursday, March 25 at 7pm ET to learn about the pioneering career of award-winning composer Bernard Herrmann and his mastery of suspense.

The screeching violins of PSYCHO's shower murder. The seductive musical whirlpool and dizzying dissonance of VERTIGO. The haunting solo sax that defines Travis Bickle in TAXI DRIVER. These sounds could only come from the dark genius of Bernard Herrmann—a composer whose explosive personality was matched by intense sensitivity, a compassion for outsiders, and a matchless gift for “getting inside the drama.”

This ticket purchase provides you with a link to the Zoom meeting, where Steven will present the seminar live at 7pm ET on Thursday, March 25th. The Zoom room will open at 6:45pm to allow for 15 minutes of any necessary tech troubleshooting. The presentation will last about 75 minutes, followed by questions and conversation.
