British
historian Lucy Jane Santos will take us on a tour of all the best
nightlife spots (nightclubs, bars, and hotels) in 1920s and 30s London in this
virtual presentation back in time. The lecture will be peppered with cocktail
demos of some of the popular cocktails of the day.
We
will visit – to name a few Art Deco gems– the Savoy American bar, the Regents
Palace Hotel, the Salted Almond Bar, the Café de Paris and Claridge’s; meet
bartenders and customers and learn about some iconic cocktails from the period.
