The Annual Riverside Pride Sunday Breakfast hosted by Maranatha

Maranatha, Riversiders for LGBTQ+ Concerns, a ministry of the Mission and Social Justice Commission, invites you to the annual Riverside Pride Sunday Breakfast.  The event will kick off at 9:00 am with an opening prayer and hot breakfast served followed by a few songs from Riverside’s LGBTQ+ membership and an awards ceremony for LGBTQ students who have applied for either the Edgar Richards or the John Robeson music annual scholarship. The students will have an opportunity to give a short speech or sing a song. Our guest preacher Rev. Naomi Washington-Leapheart will be in attendance.

Hot breakfast:

  • Assorted Breakfast Pastries

  • Scrambled Eggs

  • Breakfast Potatoes

  • Turkey Sausage Links

  • Bacon

  • Waffles

  • Fruit Salad

  • Orange Juice

  • Coffee

  • Tea

Maranatha is the first ministry of its kind within a single congregation in the United States. Founded in the spring of 1978, it has grown from a small group meeting weekly for mutual support into an organization that sponsors a broad range of education, political and social activities. The name Maranatha is an Aramaic derivation that means “the Lord cometh” and served as a word of greeting and reassurance for early Christians at the time of their persecution by the Roman authorities. In this time of division and endless attacks on the LGBTQ+ community, we are so blessed and thankful to be able to gather together during Pride month.

Tickets: $20 online/$25 CASH at the door.

All proceeds support the work of Maranatha

Visiting Riverside? Masks Still Required

Updated May 1, 2022

While proof of vaccination is no longer required as of May 1, The Riverside Church requires all staff, tenants, guests, and visitors to wear masks at all times. We continue to update our policy based on information from New York City and the CDC; this webpage contains Riverside’s most current COVID-19 safety protocols and other information. We thank you for your cooperation.

We ask you remember that The Riverside Church is more than a church – we host many individuals currently ineligible for vaccination, including children of all ages via our Weekday School, Riverside Hawks, and youth programs. We are also a gathering place for older adults and other vulnerable populations, and the safety of our staff, tenants, visitors, and guests is our utmost priority.

Because of this, Riverside’s Security and Building staff will continue to remind visitors and tenants that masks must be worn at all times in the Church unless actively consuming food or beverages. These areas include:

• Upon entering and exiting the building, and approaching the Security Desk.

• In the Nave, South Hall, South Hall Lobby, Assembly Hall, and Theatre.

• In all meeting rooms and classrooms.

• In all lobby areas.

• In all elevators and elevator lobbies.

• In the Mailroom.

• In all public restrooms.

• Traveling between floors while using staircases.

• ANY and ALL common areas in the building.

Thank you for your cooperation.
