November 24 - 26 - Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. both days., Sunday at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. with a Book Club meeting at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Scheduled to show on 35mm film courtesy of the Branigin Film Library. Onsale for members 10/4; for the general public, on 10/11 between noon and 1 p.m.
What it is: An adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens Christmas novella, The Muppet Christmas Carol brings together Michael Caine and Jim Henson's Muppets to tell the story of Ebenezer Scrooge's encounter with three spirits on Christmas Eve.
Why we're showing it: The Muppets are always welcome at the Artcraft, and they bring their trademark hilarity to Dickens' story of greed, regret and redemption. There have been many film adaptations of A Christmas Carol, but none quite like this.
But wait, there's more: The Artcraft Book Club meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, in the Artcraft cottage at 49 E Madison Street. Presented in partnership with the Wild Geese Bookshop (just across the street from the cottage), the Artcraft Book Club explores the relationship between the written word and cinema, connecting adapted films with their source material. To attend, purchase the Friday, 6:15 p.m. ticket (which includes entry to the film). Attendance is limited to 15 people. FHI members can reserve up to 2 complimentary tickets. Books may be purchased in advance from the Wild Geese Bookshop - book purchase is not required to attend. The Book Club will include in-depth discussions including plot points, so please be aware if you have not yet seen the film or read the book.
If you are feeling unwell or have been in contact with a sick individual, for the safety of others, please do not attend. Refunds are available for illnesses - please contact the Will Call office by phone or email.
Effective June 1 2022, the Artcraft is instituting a 3.25% fee on credit card orders to cover the cost of credit card company fees.
