The Big Band Alumni at American Legion Post 43

Showings

Description

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

The Art Deco Society of Los Angeles is NOT ticketing this event. We are taking RSVP to get a sense of how many people plan to attend. This will inform the venue as to how they need to staff the bar and the best way to configure the event space. The event itself is not free except to members of the American Legion Post 43. It is NOT free to members of ADSLA.

If you RSVP today, you still must bring $20 to the door for admission. The Big Band Alumni will accept your payment. We strongly suggest bringing cash.

The bar will be open for business. They take cash or credit card. No food will be sold, so plan to eat before or after the event.

The Big Band Alumni is a Swing music orchestra. They will perform in a larger room adjacent to the bar.

If you have questions about the venue or the music, please contact Post 43 or The Big Band Alumni directly through their websites. ADSLA cannot answer those questions.

If you are coming into town for this event and are looking for other things to do, we suggest a meal at historic restaurants Miceli's Italian Restaurant or Musso and Frank's (reservation required) or for casual dining check out the "Art Deco" theme Taco Bell is a beautifully restored (though not Art Deco) historic building on Hollywood Boulevard.

The Hollywood Heritage Museum across the street (some of you will park in this lot if the Post 43 lot fills up) is open from 11am to 3pm. June 9 is the last day for the exhibit Meet the Stars: 100 Years of MGM and the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Additional Information

The venue is near the Hollywood Bowl on the same (west) side of the street. To enter the free parking lot, pull into the driveway on the south side of the building and drive all the way to the back. If the lot at Post 43 fills up, there is more free parking in the parking lot in front of the Hollywood Heritage Museum at 2100 Highland Avenue between Odin and Milner. The Museum is a grey, one story historic wooden structure with green trim. You can park there, aligned with other cars.
