Description

November 2 - Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Onsale for members 10/2; for the general public, on 10/9 at 1 p.m.

What it is: In the far future of 1997, the island of Manhattan has been turned into a maximum security prison. The infamous mercenary and prisoner Snake Plissken is tasked with infiltrating Manhattan to save the US President, after Air Force One crashlands in New York City.

Why we're showing it: One of John Carpenter's most acclaimed cult classics, Escape from New York introduces the iconic character of Snake Plissken, played with acerbic charm by Kurt Russell. The cast also features great performances from Lee Van Cleef, Ernest Borgnine, Adrianne Barbeau, Donald Pleasance and of course Isaac Hayes as "The Duke," the maniacal ruler of New York.
