FRAGMENT

Directed by Dmitry Krymov
Klaipeda Drama Theatre

Synopsis: Based on the third act motifs of Anton Chekhov’s “The Three Sisters”, world renowned director Dmitry Krymov’s latest work focuses in on Olga, the eldest of the three sisters. She, like many of A. Chekhov's heroes, attempts to overcome fate, something which does not allow them to save their cherry orchard, to become a writer or go to Moscow. They are doomed to fail. All that remains is the desire for each other, suffering and loneliness. Chekhov generally doesn’t dwell on the result, but on the attempt itself, and that is what makes his characters so close and dear to us. The goal of Krymov is that perhaps you will empathize with and love this very recognizable person who can't adequately protect herself, her love, and her home.
