What it is: A disaffected teenager recently moved to Los Angeles finds companionship with fellow outcasts while rebelling against his parents, his schoolmates, and the law.
Why we're showing it: Rebel Without a Cause was a groundbreaking film upon its release, bringing attention to the wayward youth culture of the 1950s, with groundbreaking direction from Nicholas Ray and superlative performances from James Dean, Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo. Dean's portrayal of Jim Stark influenced generations of Hollywood actors. Part of the James Dean Festival, celebrating the storied actor whose career was tragically cut short. Festival passes are available here.
All showtimes begin with the national anthem and a classic cartoon. Evening regular series showtimes start with an approximately 15 minute preshow with prize drawings, plus the anthem and cartoon.
