What it is: The Godfather is the story of the Corleone crime family, a powerful mafia organization which finds itself at odds with the other New York families in the changing mid-century landscape of America.

Why we're showing it: Francis Ford Coppola's iconic adaptation of Mario Puzo's bestselling novel depicts organized crime, family, politics and policing, and is possibly the greatest gangster film of all time. Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, James Caan, and Robert Duvall are just a few of the incredible performances in The Godfather, and all were nominated for an Academy Award, with Brando winning for Best Actor. The film also won Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, with a dizzying eleven Oscar nominations.
