What it is: Telling the true story of the Kon-Tiki expedition, this film is the story of Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl. Attempting to prove his theories of ancient migration, by sailing a balsawood seacraft built with traditional techniques from Peru to Polynesia across thousands of miles of open ocean.
Why we're showing it: The Staff Picks Series presents one of FHI's staff member's favorite movies. Staff historian Glenn Faris chose Kon-Tiki as a particularly inspiring story of perserverance and curiosity.
