Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade

Keeper, The

She finds him in a local Nazi POW camp outside Manchester at the end of WWII when hostility towards Germany is palpable. He is the famous footballer Bert Trautmann; “The Keeper” is based on his personal story. Bert’s football skills are noted by Manchester City and they pick him up as a goalie. His signing causes outrage within the community but Margaret campaigns for him and gets support from a local Rabbi. Bert’s talent shines at the 1956 FA Cup Final when he secures victory for Manchester City by playing despite a broken neck
