Kids' Studio Time

The Fauvist Movement

The object of this class is to learn there is no "right" way to paint a picture and to allow the student to free up their creativity.

From about 1900 to 1905, a group of French artists formed a school known as Fauvists (wild beasts). The key feature was that objects did not have to be represented by their true hues (colors). More recently it has been revived by a New Orleans artist, George Rodrigue, with his Blue Dog series.

For more information about this and other Kids' Art Activities, go to
If you are signing up for a class for the first time online, you will need to create an online account during the checkout process. (If you've purchased tickets to events at The Center, you may use the same user name and password.) When choosing quantity, only choose the number of children signing up for the class. There will be a prompt to enter their names for the roster.
