Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, PA, where they bicker and complain about the circumstances of their lives. Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boyfriend, Spike. Old resentments flare up, eventually leading to threats to sell the house. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress. Winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play.

An Evening with Adriana Zabala

Mezzo-soprano Adriana Zabala is a home-town hero in the world of vocal music. She has performed and recorded a vast repertoire, diverse in period, nationality, and style. Her work has been praised by The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the LA Times.

Zabala will perform a wide variety of repertoire with the BSO including Voi Che Sapete and Non so Piu Cosa Son from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, My House (Bernstein), La Vie en Rose (Piaf), Maria La O (Lecuona), and Besame Mucho (Velasquez). The Orchestra will also perform the powerful Overture to Tannhauser by Wagner, as well as several of Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances.

The Society was created to stimulate an active interest in the discovery, conservation, and salvage of archaeological sites, and the recording and preservation of archaeological remains using scientific procedures.

Twelve Heads Are Better Than One: Three Days of Focused Peer Critiquing

Ron Rozelle offers up-close and personal perusals and critiques of story or memoir ideas and several pages of first draft manuscripts. The workshop promises to be great fun for beginners as well as serious writers. You will go away with an abundance of ideas and new useful ways to plan effectively and write clearly and well.
Educators looking for ways to improve students’ planning and writing, and new ways to have them look deeper into reading assignments will benefit and receive inservice credit from their districts.
Bring what you are working on (no major profanity, politics, or proselytizing please), or just show up to listen and learn.

Bring double-spaced, 12 pt. font, typed pages on first day for critiquing. Space is limited. Ages 18+

From Norway to Spain

Pianist Gayle Martin Henry will perform Piano Concerto in A minor, Op 16 by Edvard Grieg. She achieved international prominence as the sole American laureate of the sixth International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow. Notable appearances include Houston Symphony, Moscow Radio Philharmonic, Maracaibo Symphony, Denver Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, among many others.
She has toured throughout South America including an engagement at
Teatro Colón with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Argentina.

This concert will also feature a performance of the winning piece from the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra Composition Competition and will showcase several of the soloists within the orchestra. The concert will close with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol.
