We’re thrilled to welcome you back to the theater to experience new films in a small group experience. With safety as our top priority, we will be operating at a significantly reduced capacity, with each screening's total capacity limited to one party of up to ten guests.

Please note that you must purchase all desired tickets in the same transaction. Tickets are $7.50 for Amherst Cinema Members or $10.75 for non-Members. Members, be sure to sign in to unlock your Member rate. At this time, no passes can be redeemed for these screenings.

Cinema Seminar - Terminator 2: Rise (and Fall) of the Machines

With 1991’s TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY, director James Cameron delivered the ultimate action sci-fi blockbuster. “Ultimate” in the truest sense of the word, as the innovative use of CGI set the stage for the end of the wide use of practical and optical effects.

In this Cinema Seminar, Dan Cashman explores the contradiction of this gold standard in visual effects being the very death knell of a long and storied branch of that cinema craft. The film is a rich text on the dangers of computer technology, both in theme and in practice.

This ticket package includes admission to both the Cinema Seminar at 7:00pm at the screening of TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY at 8:00pm.
