Shortly after Philip Marlowe gives friend Terry Lenox a ride to Mexico, he’s questioned about the death of Terry’s wife—and then Terry turns up dead, too. From a script by Leigh Brackett, who also penned THE BIG SLEEP, Elliott Gould inherits the mantle of Marlowe in Robert Altman’s comedic take on the detective.
