You are invited to join us for a captivating evening of film, art, spoken word, and inspired
discussion with Sean Guerrero and Orian Williams!
August 31, 2023, please join us at the Majestic Theatre from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. for a live
spoken-word presentation by artist, Sean Guerrero, followed by the showing of Big Sur, hosted
by the film’s producer, Orian Williams. The drama film is an adaptation of the 1962 novel of the
same name by Jack Kerouac, written and directed by Michael Polish.
Audiences will be treated to an exclusive live performance by one of Crested Butte’s favorite
creatives, Sean Guerrero. "The Final Ride of Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty", a prose written
by Guerrero, will be performed in the wordbeat style of Kerouac, while the audience gazes upon
a spectacular projection of his sculpture, “ReinCarNation,” shot during the 2023 Bombay Beach
Biennale. His fictitious poem takes Kerouac and Cassidy on a stolen automobile ride across time
and space, starting in Denver Colorado in 1957.
We will then be joined for the screening by Big Sur Producer, Orian Williams. Williams is best
known for the Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated Willem Dafoe/John Malkovich film “Shadow
of the Vampire,” as well as the BIFA-winning “Control,” an Ian Curtis biopic which received
multiple Cannes and BAFTA awards.
Williams and Guerrero will have a discussion about how the Beats influenced their work and
their lives, followed by an audience Q&A.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at The Majestic Theatre and runs until approximately 8:30 p.m. It is
open to the public.
Tickets are $10 general admission and available online at cbmajestic.org, at the theatre before the
event, and will be available at the door.

following the unparalleled success of the groundbreaking novel, On The Road. Once the
handsome literary maverick and hero of the Beat Generation, Kerouac now sees only a vestige of
